Lebanon Will Not Serve as Platform to Threaten Arab States, Says Interior Minister to Saudi Ambassador

Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmed Al-Hajjar received Saudi Arabia's Ambassador Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Dosari at his office today in a formal visit marking the ambassador's assumption of his new duties.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the deep ties linking Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing their shared commitment to strengthening and developing relations across various sectors to serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.

Minister Al-Hajjar expressed Lebanon’s appreciation for the support provided by Saudi Arabia and for its efforts to enhance Lebanon’s security and stability. He stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation and coordination, particularly between the interior ministries and security agencies of both countries, in combating drug trafficking, controlling smuggling networks, and countering any actions that could harm the security of Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. He affirmed that Lebanon will not be used as a platform for any activity threatening the security of the brotherly Arab states.

He also renewed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the decision to resume Lebanese exports, considering this step as a reflection of confidence in the measures taken by the Lebanese state and as a boost to Lebanon’s economic recovery prospects.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Dosari confirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon in preserving its security and stability and its keenness to provide assistance to Lebanon and its people.
