Macron Affirms France's Support for Lebanese Armed Forces: Establishing State Authority Across Lebanon's Entire Territory Is a Core Objective

President Emmanuel Macron announced that Paris is today a meeting point for our partners aiming to strengthen Lebanon's sovereignty and enable it to fully secure its own safety.

Through "X", Macron stated: "A peaceful Lebanon represents a renewed hope for the entire Middle East; a sovereign and stable Lebanon is a decisive step toward peace and stability across the region as a whole."

He added: "In cooperation with the Lebanese president and the Jordanian monarch, and through close coordination with the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and our international partners, we support the Lebanese Armed Forces, which are indispensable for establishing state authority across Lebanon's entire territory."

He continued: "In the face of ongoing tensions in the Middle East, there is no way to end open escalation except through diplomacy and dialogue. I have particularly affirmed our solidarity with Jordan and condemned Iranian attacks."

He also highlighted the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, the Red Sea, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

He pointed out that disruptions to navigation have direct consequences on our daily lives; French citizens feel the impact at gas stations, where prices have reached unbearable levels.

French President Macron stressed that this issue is among my top priorities; we are tirelessly working to reduce tensions, secure our oil supplies, and alleviate pressure on prices.

He said: "There is another major issue we must not overlook: the necessity of continuing efforts toward a two-state solution—Israel and Palestine—based on peace and security. A year after the 'New York Declaration,' we cannot afford to relax our efforts, as this issue remains a cornerstone of regional stability as a whole."

He added: "Mobilizing our partners and taking responsibility for global stability lies at the heart of our work to protect the French people."
