Minister of Information Marcelo Zarru stated after meeting with President Joseph Aoun that the new media law is a cornerstone for media sector development, emphasizing the need for essential amendments to complete its implementation.

Minister of Information Boul Merhej, in a statement following his meeting with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace, said that "the new media law is a fundamental pillar in developing the media sector, and we have waited years for it; however, its adoption remains an incomplete achievement without necessary amendments to be completed."
He added: "Public and media freedoms are safeguarded by the constitution, and the law must reinforce these guarantees."
Merhej affirmed, "I will work to ensure the success of the required amendments, as all laws are subject to improvement and revision."
He further stated: "We discussed continuing the advancement of Lebanon Television, reviewing its current situation and the necessary steps to continue its development journey."
