The post-UNIFIL phase between Aoun and Macron

A call was made between President of the Republic Joseph Aoun and French President Emmanuel Macron, and they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region in light of recent developments.

President Aoun briefed his French counterpart on the results of his visit to the United States of America and the talks he held with US President Donald Trump and a number of US officials, which addressed the situation in Lebanon and the post-agreement phase on the framework formula and the path of implementing the points contained therein.

The discussion touched on the situation in the south in light of the continued Israeli attacks on a number of southern villages and towns and the need to put an end to them and to commit to a cessation of hostilities.

The two presidents discussed the phase after the end of the work of the international forces in the south "UNIFIL" and the importance of international accompaniment to stabilize the situation there. Presidents Aoun and Macron agreed to maintain communication between them to follow up on developments.
