Meat, Chicken, Dairy, and Cheese... Not Meeting Specifications

A team of inspectors from the Regional Health Department in the Southern Governorate raided food establishments in Aaqabiyya located within the Bissariyya town area, in cooperation with the town's Health Inspection Committee and its municipal police elements, resulting in the issuance of a seizure report against a shop, closure of a butcher shop, and a chicken slaughterhouse for violating food safety standards, while written and verbal warnings were directed to some others to rectify their situations and adhere to approved health conditions.

A seizure report was issued, according to the field inspection by the inspectors, against the owner of one of the shops for containing quantities of expired dairy, cheese, spices, and candies, which led to its closure and destruction thereof. The inspectors also closed a butcher shop that did not follow the necessary health conditions. As for the chicken slaughterhouse, it was closed due to its non-compliance with food safety standards. Warnings were also issued to a number of establishments and shops to correct their violations.

The Department affirmed "its follow-up of the campaign through its teams of inspectors across the South, to correct the path of various food establishments towards commitment to everything that ensures the safety and health of food for the consumer."
