Ministry of Economy Reports 9,640 Field Inspections and 414 Violation Reports Amid Ongoing War

The Consumer Protection Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Trade stated in its weekly report that from the start of the war in early March until July 17, it carried out 9,640 field inspections, issued 414 violation reports, and responded to 537 complaints.

It further noted that from the beginning of the year, January 1, through July 17, the directorate completed 12,744 field inspections, recorded 560 violation reports, and addressed 719 complaints. During the week of July 13 to 17, the directorate responded to 22 complaints and conducted 562 inspections, resulting in 18 violation reports.

The directorate confirmed that the intensification of its inspection rounds has been ongoing since the current war began, following a directive issued by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Dr. Amer Al-Bassat, on March 3, 2026, which called for stricter oversight.

The Ministry of Economy and Trade emphasized the continuation of its inspection campaigns in coordination with security agencies and its commitment to taking the necessary legal actions against violators to ensure consumer protection and market stability.
