The Ministry of Energy and Water announced in a statement issued by its media office that "the fair price for private generator tariffs for June is as follows:

41.973 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

- For subscribers with meters in cities or densely populated areas or at an altitude of less than ??? meters: - Capacity 5 Amps: 385.000 L.L. + the monthly lump sum 41.973 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

- Capacity 10 Amps: 685.000 L.L. + the monthly lump sum x 41.973 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

46.170 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

- For subscribers with meters in villages or remote areas or at an altitude of more than ??? meters: - Capacity 5 Amps: 385.000 L.L. (fixed) + the monthly lump sum x 46.170 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

- Capacity 10 Amps: 685.000 L.L. (fixed) + the monthly lump sum x 46.170 L.L. per kilowatt-hour.

* 300.000 L.L. is added to the fixed portion of the meter tariff for each additional 5 Amps".

It said: "This tariff is based on the average price of a tank of diesel (20 liters) in June, which amounted to 2,061,450 L.L., after calculating all expenses, interests, and costs of generators in addition to a good profit margin for their owners, and we have taken into consideration, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the cost of distributing the tank from the fuel station to the generator.

It takes into account in calculating its basic components such as the cost of oils, filters, and generator depreciation, the monthly average exchange rate of the dollar in the parallel market, which reached 89,700 L.L.

This tariff was issued based on the calculation table approved by the Ministry of Energy since 14/10/2010; and in implementation of Cabinet Decision No. 2 issued on 14/12/2011 regarding taking the necessary measures to control private generator tariffs, and based on the joint implementation mechanism between the ministries (Energy, Interior, and Economy) announced on 20/12/2011, which defined the responsibility of the Ministry of Energy and Water in circulating private generator tariffs based on diesel prices at the end of each month".

The Ministry of Energy and Water called on generator owners to "comply with the decision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade requiring the installation of meters, and it will conduct a documented study in this regard in the coming period to update the adopted equation to better suit exchange rate fluctuations and the economic and social situation of citizens, taking into account the requirements of private generator owners".

It also announced that it "sent letters to the Ministries of Interior and Economy regarding the tariff for June 2026 to take the necessary action according to the joint control mechanism".

The Ministry of Energy and Water drew the attention of private generator owners and dear citizens to "the inadmissibility of adding the following additions to the indicative tariff issued by the ministry:

1- Value-added tax not legally justified by official registration with the VAT Directorate at the Ministry of Finance.

2- Additional fees or amounts under any pretext, such as the cost of maintaining a generator or networks or others...

3- Additional fees for citizens who use solar energy devices alongside private generators".

It called on those concerned with consumer protection, especially the Ministry of Economy and Trade, to "tighten control over the proper application of the above indicative tariff and take maximum measures against violators, with follow-up from the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities and the competent judiciary".

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Energy and Water attaches a link to the detailed indicative tariff installation table and will also publish this table on the official website: www.energyandwater.gov.lb.
