The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in a statement, "in the strongest terms, the Houthi militia's targeting of an electricity distribution station in Medina with a drone, which led to the disruption of one of the transformers supplying the Prophet's Mosque with electricity."

It considered "this attack on vital and civilian facilities a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, an infringement on the sovereignty and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a threat to stability in the region."

The statement added: "While the Ministry categorically rejects any targeting of the Kingdom's territory and facilities, it expresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and stands by its side in confronting everything that threatens its security and sovereignty."
