Nasrallah: Broader Health Presence in the Coming Phase

Confirmed Minister of Public Health Rakan Nasrallah that "the Western Bint Jbeil area will witness a broader health presence in the coming phase, through supporting primary healthcare centers and enhancing their capabilities, and working on launching initiatives aimed at meeting the growing health needs of the region's residents."

Nasrallah said this during a meeting held at the residence of Hezbollah sector three official Hassan Hamieh in the town of Tariya, dedicated to discussing the health and developmental situation in the Western Bint Jbeil area, attended by several local mayors and sheikhs, as well as health, educational, political, and social figures. The discussion addressed "the state of the health sector in the Western Bint Jbeil region, the challenges it faces, and ways to improve and expand primary healthcare services amid rising population density and increasing demand for medical services, alongside the absence of a government hospital in the area." He stated, "The sacrifices made by the people of Western Bint Jbeil deserve some fulfillment," affirming that "the coming phase will see the translation of this commitment through concrete steps that strengthen the Ministry of Health's presence and support the health sector in the region."

He highlighted the ministry's direction to "support the primary healthcare centers in Chamshtar and Budai, particularly through renovation and rehabilitation work, thereby improving their readiness and capacity to provide health services to citizens," stressing that "the Western Bint Jbeil area, with its numerous towns and large population cluster, requires an integrated health approach that goes beyond the current state of healthcare centers," underscoring "the need to strengthen the health infrastructure and expand available services for residents, especially given the lack of a government hospital in the region."

He announced, "We are working on a special health initiative for the Western Bint Jbeil area, details of which will be announced in a later stage, as part of fulfilling our commitment to the region’s people and recognizing their sacrifices."

Following the meeting, Minister Nasrallah proceeded to the health center in the town of Chamshtar, where he was welcomed by Mayor Suhail al-Hajj Hassan, municipal council members, and health and social activists. He conducted a field tour to assess the center’s conditions and needs, listened to a presentation on operations and services provided to citizens, and discussed key requirements necessary to enhance the center’s performance and strengthen its ability to meet residents’ needs.

This visit falls within the framework of ongoing field monitoring of the health situation in Western Bint Jbeil, translating the minister’s declared intent to strengthen the Ministry of Health’s presence in the region and support primary healthcare centers, contributing to improved health service levels and more effective and sustainable care for the region’s inhabitants.
