Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam discussed the general situation in the country and the upcoming Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Rome, demanding an immediate Israeli withdrawal from the two experimental zones before any other discussion.

Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun discussed with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam the general situation in the country and the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations scheduled in the Italian capital Rome, during a meeting that brought them together on Monday evening at Baabda Palace, according to a statement from the Lebanese presidency.
The statement explained that the meeting addressed the new round of Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations scheduled for tomorrow and the day after in the Italian capital Rome, pointing to "the directives given to the Lebanese delegation regarding the necessity of demanding the immediate start of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the two experimental zones before any other discussion."
The statement added that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam briefed President Joseph Aoun on the results of his official visit to Turkey and the outcome of the discussions he held with Turkish officials, foremost among them President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The meeting also touched, according to the statement, on the upcoming visit that President Joseph Aoun will make to the United States and the scheduled meeting with US President Donald Trump.
