President Joseph Aoun and French President Emmanuel Macron held a call to discuss the general situation in Lebanon and the region, including the post-UNIFIL phase in the south.

A call took place between President of the Republic Joseph Aoun and French President Emmanuel Macron, and they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region in light of recent developments.
President Aoun briefed his French counterpart on the results of his visit to the United States of America and the talks he held with US President Donald Trump and a number of US officials, which covered the situation in Lebanon and the post-agreement phase on the framework formula and the path of implementing the points contained therein.
The discussion touched on the situation in the south in light of the continuing Israeli attacks on a number of southern villages and towns and the need to put an end to them and commit to the cessation of hostilities.
The two presidents discussed the post-phase of the work of the international forces in the south, 'UNIFIL', and the importance of international accompaniment for the stability of the situation there. Presidents Aoun and Macron agreed to maintain communication between them to follow up on developments.
