Lebanese President Joseph Aoun thanked Qatar for its support, urged pressure on Israel to stop southern attacks, and discussed energy cooperation during a meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister.

During his reception of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, at Baabda Palace, President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari leadership in their constant pursuit of restoring stability to the countries of the region through bridging viewpoints and removing causes that lead to escalation.
During the meeting, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Rajji, Qatari Minister of State Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, and Qatar's Ambassador to Lebanon Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, President Aoun thanked the Emir of Qatar and the Qatari government for "the support Lebanon receives in all fields," hoping that "Qatar would continue its efforts with brotherly Arab countries and friendly nations to pressure Israel to stop its aggressions in the south and implement the framework agreement reached as a result of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel under American sponsorship."
The President renewed "his condemnation of the attacks targeting Gulf states, most recently the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," affirming "Lebanon's solidarity, leadership and people, with the brothers in the Gulf countries." President Aoun touched upon Lebanese-Qatari relations, renewing his welcome to any "cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly in the field of energy, where Qatar had previously expressed its readiness to help find solutions to the electricity crisis suffered by Lebanon."
President Aoun outlined what the south is facing from continuous Israeli attacks, and the resulting casualties, injuries, and destruction of southern villages and towns occupied by Israel. President Aoun conveyed his greetings to the Emir of Qatar and his wishes for continued success, and for the State of Qatar more security, stability, and progress, emphasizing that "the Lebanese people will not forget what Qatar has provided and still provides to the Lebanese people in the difficult circumstances they have gone through." He thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to Beirut "which expresses the love and support of the State of Qatar, and is a new message of hope to the Lebanese."
