President Joseph Aoun met with Minister Charbel Hajj to discuss telecommunications sector reforms and infrastructure rehabilitation in southern Lebanon.

President Joseph Aoun received an update from Minister of Telecommunications Charbel Hajj on the completed priorities within the ministry. The meeting also addressed the plan to rehabilitate telecommunications networks in southern Lebanon, emphasizing the sector’s crucial role in facilitating residents' return to their villages, supporting reconstruction efforts, and revitalizing economic activity.
The discussion included a review of the reform trajectory in the telecommunications sector, the implementation of Law 431, and the progress made in reactivating the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. Additionally, the ongoing executive steps to launch "Liban Telecom" were examined, marking a key phase in sector reform and governance modernization.
President Aoun underscored the importance of moving from planning to execution and completing reforms that align the telecommunications sector with serving both citizens and the national economy.
