President Joseph Aoun highlighted ongoing efforts to secure international support for Lebanon and noted that defining "model areas" awaits Israeli approval.

President Joseph Aoun expressed anticipation for the United Kingdom's continued support for Lebanon, particularly backing its efforts to maintain an international presence in the south following the commencement of the UNIFIL withdrawal at the start of 2027.
Following a meeting with a British parliamentary delegation, President Aoun stated that work is underway to solidify the ceasefire in the south, which will be followed by the withdrawal of Israeli forces, deployment of the Lebanese army, the return of residents, the release of prisoners, and the initiation of reconstruction efforts.
He emphasized that the designation of "model areas" remains under discussion, pending approval from the Israeli side. Additionally, he noted that negotiations in Washington continue independently from the outcomes of last week's meetings in Switzerland involving the United States and Iran, which were overseen by Qatar and Pakistan.
