President Aoun: Supporting Family Resilience and Creating a Sustainable Economic Cycle

President Joseph Aoun was briefed by a delegation from World Central Kitchen, led by Mr. Javier Garcia, on the organization's activities in Lebanon and the programs it implements to support the most needy communities and displaced persons, particularly in the South and Bekaa regions.

The delegation explained that "the organization expanded its presence in Lebanon over the past three years and worked intensively since October 2023, contributing to providing approximately 22 million hot meals through nine kitchens in the South and Bekaa, in cooperation with local associations, organizations, municipalities, and restaurants, in addition to its contribution to providing meals within shelter centers during displacement periods."

President Aoun stressed the importance of ensuring that "humanitarian work is accompanied by support for the local economy, particularly the agricultural sector, farmers, producers, and small businesses, so that aid, wherever possible, becomes an opportunity to support family resilience and areas while creating a sustainable local economic cycle."
