Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held a meeting at the Grand Serail dedicated to discussing the situation in the town of Shebaa. The meeting was attended by MP Firas Hamdan and the Mayor of Shebaa, Adam Farhat, leading a delegation that included Deputy Mayor Abdul Rahman Attawi and council members: Naji Daher, Shadi Nasif, Rabih Ghiyad, Mohammad Hammoud, Mohammad Al-Khatib, Mohammad Hamdan, and Mohammad Dalal.

Following the meeting, Mayor Adam Farhat stated:

"We had the honor today of meeting with the Prime Minister, Judge Nawaf Salam, where we confirmed that the town of Shebaa stands alongside the state and its institutions, supporting its path in various fields.

On another note, we requested his support for the resilience of the town of Shebaa, the Arqoub towns, and the Hasbaya region, especially in light of difficult economic and living conditions. We also demanded providing support to residents in the area of fuel, given rising prices and the inability of many families to bear the cost during winter, particularly since Shebaa is located at an altitude exceeding 1400 meters above sea level, making heating supplies a basic need for residents.

He promised us to work on fulfilling this request, which would contribute to supporting the resilience of the people. We also touched upon the importance of implementing development projects that would support the resilience of the town and villages adjacent to occupied Palestine.

The visit was positive and fruitful, and we hope its results will be translated into practical steps commensurate with the scale of challenges facing our region. For Shebaa, located on the border, has remained steadfast despite difficult circumstances, and its people have the right to receive necessary support and live a dignified life.

We thank President Nawaf Salam for his interest and follow-up, and we hope that the promises we received will be implemented as soon as possible."
