Prime Minister Nawaf Salam Calls Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaybani

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam made a phone call to Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaybani, during which he commended the fraternal and candid position toward Lebanon expressed by President Ahmad Al-Shar’ in his television interview yesterday. This interview put an end to misleading speculations and assumptions regarding Syria's intentions toward Lebanon.

The call also served as an opportunity to reaffirm the strength of the relationship between the two brotherly countries and emphasized the need to continue working on consolidating it based on new foundations of cooperation, from state to state, and on the basis of shared interests.
