At the opening of the session, Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam emphasized that since the onset of the war imposed on Lebanon, the Lebanese government has continuously worked to halt it and prevent further harm to Lebanon and its citizens.

He added, "Today, we hope that the ceasefire announcement reached between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran will end this war and stop the killing, destruction, displacement, and all other tragedies and sufferings inflicted upon the Lebanese people. I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to achieving this outcome."

Salam stated that the government will intensify efforts through ongoing negotiations in Washington to ensure the complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the release of Lebanese prisoners. "As the government mobilized all resources in recent months to respond to the displacement crisis, and while we look forward to our people returning safely and with dignity to their cities and villages as soon as possible, we will also increase efforts with all brothers and friends to secure the requirements for reconstruction," he concluded.
