Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met with Imran Riza, the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for the United Nations in Lebanon, who is also acting as the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, along with Major General Diodato Abagnara, the Head and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), to discuss preparations for the post-UNIFIL phase.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Salam reiterated the ongoing need for a United Nations force in southern Lebanon to fulfill three primary responsibilities: monitoring, reporting, and coordination and communication.
