Public Prosecution Launches Investigation into Fake Page Impersonating Labor Minister

The office of Labor Minister Muhammad Haydar warned in a statement about "a fake page on the social media platform Facebook impersonating the name and image of Minister Muhammad Haydar, sending private messages to several individuals in an attempt to mislead them into believing it is the minister's personal page."

It confirmed that "this page has no connection whatsoever to the minister or his office; it is a fraudulent page impersonating identity and title," urging "citizens and followers not to engage with it, respond to its messages, provide any personal information or data, or comply with any requests issued by it."

It noted that "this matter has been referred to the competent Public Prosecution, which has authorized pursuit of those responsible for creating and managing this page," adding that "the Information Crimes Unit within the Internal Security Forces has initiated necessary procedures to investigate the case, identify the individuals and entities behind the page, and take legal action against them."

It emphasized that "any communication, statement, or request originating from the minister or his office will be exclusively through official and approved channels," warning against "being misled by any pages or accounts impersonating the minister or the Ministry of Labor."

It called on citizens and followers to "exercise caution and report any suspicious activity related to this page or similar pages and accounts to the relevant authorities."
