Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf met with Amal Movement officials, recalling the martyr leader's regard for Nabih Berri's position within Lebanon's Shia community.

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, held a meeting with Khalil Hamdan, a member of the Amal Movement's Political Bureau. Hamdan represented Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at the farewell ceremony for the "martyr leader," leading a delegation that included several Lebanese parliamentarians.
During their discussion, Qalibaf stated that he had visited Beirut twice during the war on Lebanon. He noted that their martyr leader consistently emphasized the status and role of Nabih Berri among Lebanon’s Shia community. The leader believed that any decision Berri made in consensus with the Shia society and in the interest of the Lebanese people would receive support from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Qalibaf further explained that during negotiations with the United States, one of the main concerns of the resistance front, especially regarding Lebanon, was addressed. Consequently, the Islamic Republic of Iran insisted on including provisions related to Lebanon in the memorandum of understanding.
He stressed the importance of all Lebanese societal components working to implement the Lebanon-related clause in the Iranian-American memorandum of understanding, stating that its enforcement would prevent the stirring of discord within Lebanon.
Qalibaf also pointed out that a key lesson to draw from the martyr leader’s approach is the preservation of unity within the Islamic community and among the Shia.
