Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai received U.S. Ambassador Michel Aoun and his wife at the patriarchal residence in Dimaan.
Attendees included Bishop Elias Nasser, Bishop Joseph Naffah, Bishop Peter Karam, and Father Fadi Tabet.
After taking a commemorative photo, Patriarch Rai welcomed Ambassador Aoun, commending his diplomatic mission and addressing him by saying: "You are a man of peace."
The meeting featured general discussion on the situation in Lebanon, the importance of fostering calm and stability, and promoting dialogue and peace to safeguard Lebanon and its people, ensuring them a more secure and stable future.
The gathering emphasized "the importance of continuing efforts aimed at consolidating peace and protecting Lebanon from the repercussions of crises, amid the challenges faced by Lebanese citizens and their aspirations for a future marked by safety and stability."
Subsequently, the patriarch hosted Ambassador Aoun and his wife to lunch.
