Raji Launches Biometric Passport Service for Lebanese Citizens in Washington

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Yusuf Raji, accompanied by Lebanon's Ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, launched the biometric fingerprint service for Lebanese passports at the headquarters of the Lebanese Embassy in Washington.

Minister Raji expressed his "joy at returning to the embassy where he managed political affairs between 1995 and 1999," noting his happiness at "meeting several employees who worked with him during that period." He stated: "Launching this service is not merely an administrative procedure; it is a commitment to the dispersed Lebanese people who have always remained the living extension of the homeland."

He clarified that "the Lebanese citizen can now obtain their passport in their country of residence, avoiding the hardship of travel, waiting, and transaction complexities, in the fastest time and at the lowest cost." He added: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants is proceeding with updating its services and bringing them closer to Lebanese citizens wherever they are found, because a state that respects its citizens stands alongside them everywhere."

Raji concluded: "From Washington, I say to all Lebanese around the world: you are an integral part of Lebanon. Just as Lebanon's sovereignty and stability are at the core of every diplomatic move we make, your dignity, rights, and service are also at the core of our work. A strong state is one that safeguards its sovereignty internally and preserves the dignity of its children abroad."

Additionally, Raji held a meeting at the Lebanese Embassy headquarters with a number of Lebanese media professionals residing in Washington. The discussion covered the results of the visit and the talks he conducted with US officials, during which he outlined the main priorities of Lebanese diplomacy for the upcoming phase.
