Rajji Meets Moroccan Counterpart... Bilateral Relations Discussed

Foreign Minister and Emigrants Affairs Minister Youssef Rajji wrote on his account on the "X" platform:

"I held a meeting in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, which addressed the developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.

There was a convergence of views regarding the delicacy of the situation in Lebanon, the reasons for the continuation of the crisis, and the challenges it faces at the current stage.

With my Moroccan counterpart, we also agreed that there is a prevailing misconception about the principle of self-defense, and that this task must remain exclusively within the Lebanese state and its legitimate institutions, and not be undertaken by any armed group outside the framework of the state.

I also participated, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly work, in the joint ministerial meeting of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation concerning Jerusalem, which is co-chaired by the foreign ministers of Tunisia and Turkey.

The meeting was dedicated to discussing coordination and enhancing joint action between the Arab League and the OIC to protect the city of Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic holy sites, and to preserve the existing historical and legal status quo there."
