Rassamni Outlines Transport Infrastructure Priorities to US Task Force Delegation

Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Faisal Rassamni held an extensive meeting today at his office with a delegation from the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL).

The discussion covered multiple files related to Lebanon’s transport and infrastructure sectors, including the ministry’s immediate and medium-term priorities and objectives.

Transport Infrastructure as Strategic Priority

Rassamni presented the ministry’s core priorities and principal goals, underscoring its focus on strengthening and developing Lebanon’s transport infrastructure.

He emphasized improvements to security at ports, airports, and border crossings—measures intended to enhance the operational readiness of these critical facilities and reinforce their contribution to the national economy.

Regional Connectivity and Trade Integration

The meeting addressed the importance of reinforcing regional linkages and upgrading Lebanon’s overall transport system to bolster the country’s position within the regional transportation and trade network.

Participants also examined ways to support and modernize ports, airports, and border crossings, alongside efforts to raise security and safety standards across those facilities.

Special attention was given to ensuring integration between these key infrastructure nodes and Lebanon’s land-based and regional transport networks, in service of trade and mobility flows.
