Request for Mediation by 'Ogero' Employees to the Ministry of Labor for Minimum Wage Payment

Employees of the Ogero Telecommunications Company, represented by their legal counsel Attorney Ali Kamal Abbas, submitted a formal mediation request to the Minister of Labor - Directorate of Labor and Professional Relations, registered at the Court Registry under number 2/1291 on 22/9/2025.

The request centers on two main points:

First - Payment of Minimum Wage Differentials:

The petitioners demand implementation and payment of the effects of the latest decree concerning the official minimum wage, No. 699/2025 dated 24/7/2025, after having been denied the most recent increase, despite having benefited from previous salary increments applied to their wages over recent years. They argue that failing to pay this increase constitutes a clear violation of the decree and unlawful discrimination against them.

Second - Compensation Fund 161:

They also call for urgent resolution of the chronic funding shortfall in the End-of-Service Compensation Fund - Fund 161, and immediate measures to secure necessary financing, in order to protect the rights of current employees and retirees, and to reassess and settle compensation payments made during the period of currency collapse, which have lost their real value.

Attorney Abbas emphasized in his submission that his clients are long-serving employees of the company, and that continuing to withhold the minimum wage and leaving Fund 161 unaddressed threatens the social and economic security of dozens of families.
