Iran-backed Hezbollah received $200 million from Tehran to help Lebanese people displaced by this year's war with Israel, according to two informed sources cited by Reuters. This marks the first significant assistance provided by the group to its supporters who bore the brunt of the conflict.

The sources stated that Hezbollah received the amount last month despite the United States tightening its economic grip on Iran and increasing difficulties in delivering funds to Tehran's Lebanese ally.

According to the sources, Iranian funds designated for Hezbollah are sent through intermediaries who charge four times the usual fees due to heightened risks.
