Sadi Reviews Efforts to Restart Zouk and Jieh Power Plants with Lebanon Electricity Board
Energy Minister Joe Sadi met with the board of Lebanon's electricity company to discuss efforts to restart the Zouk and Jieh power plants, aiming for additional supply hours.

Minister of Energy and Water Joe Sadi held a meeting with the President of the Board of Directors of Electricite du Liban (EDL), Engineer Naseeb Nasr, accompanied by Board Member Samer Al-Hassanieh, who is tasked with following up on the file. They briefed him on the details of the parliamentary committee meeting on Public Works, Energy, and Transport dedicated to monitoring the operation of the Zouk and Jieh power plants, as well as the Board's efforts to restart them through technical and administrative pathways that would provide approximately one and a half hours of additional power supply for a month and a half, based on currently available fuel.
They also emphasized that once the plants are operational, any malfunction will be the responsibility of the operator, in accordance with the terms of the current operating contract.
