Salam Receives MPs' Memorandum on UNIFIL's Future
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received a group of MPs who handed over a memorandum concerning the future of UNIFIL and potential security gaps in southern Lebanon.

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received MPs Adnan Traboulsi, Qassem Hashem, Michel Moussa, Hagop Pakradounian, Firas Hamdan, Nasser Jaber, Najat Aoun Saliba, Paula Yacoubian, Bilal Al-Hachimi, and Melhem Khalaf.
After the meeting, MP Khalaf said: "We had the honor today of meeting with the Prime Minister to continue the discussion we began with him several weeks ago regarding the future of UNIFIL, particularly the developments we fear could lead to a vacuum in the south due to the absence of this force."
He added: "We came to hand his excellency a legal memorandum, which supplements the letter signed by 86 MPs. We spoke with him clearly about these matters. Today, there is a government effort underway to find alternatives, and these alternatives are being seriously examined to address any potential vacuum. Therefore, we leave the meeting with his excellency with a core idea: working diligently to ensure that no vacuum occurs under the international umbrella in the south. This is the fundamental concept we took away from this meeting."
