Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote via the "X" platform:

I contacted today both Army Commander General Rodolphe Heykal and Internal Security Forces Commander Major General Raed Abdullah, praising the reinforcement of armed forces deployment in Greater Beirut over the past two days, and its importance in reassuring citizens that the state and its armed forces are vigilant for their safety after the capital witnessed nightly gatherings that raised suspicion and concern among them about potential risks.

There is no need to emphasize that stability will not prevail in the country unless state authority is extended over all its territories, even gradually, exclusively by its own forces.

I also met with Justice Minister Adel Nassar and Prosecutor General Rami Al-Hajj to follow up on measures taken to expand the investigation into the explosives shipment seized in Dahr al-Baydar and subsequent events, and to arrest all those involved in possessing and transporting any weapon outside the law and refer them to the competent judiciary to face punishment. There is no ceiling for us except the ceiling of the law.

I take this opportunity to call on everyone to prioritize the country's interest above any other consideration, and not link it to external interests and objectives, reiterating that the decision of war and peace must remain solely in the hands of the state and its constitutional institutions.
