Salim Discusses Shared Challenges with Kuwait's Crown Prince

Prime Minister Najib Salim held a meeting with Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Joseph Rizk.

The meeting discussed the historical and fraternal relations between Lebanon and Kuwait and ways to strengthen them, as well as the common challenges facing both countries, particularly in light of similarities between their political systems based on pluralism and parliamentary life.

The discussion also covered recent developments in the region, with both sides affirming the importance of de-escalation and maintaining regional security and stability, avoiding further confrontations. President Salim reiterated his condemnation of attacks against the State of Kuwait, reaffirming Lebanon’s solidarity and support.

In turn, the Kuwaiti Crown Prince reaffirmed his country’s support for Lebanon and expressed Kuwait’s desire to expand its investments there. President Salim thanked Kuwait for its continuous support, especially in the energy sector, commending its upcoming contribution to securing fuel for the Lebanese Electricity Authority, and appreciating Lebanon’s continued prioritization despite regional challenges affecting export and shipping operations.

President Salim presented investment opportunities available in Lebanon, particularly in infrastructure, transportation, energy, and regional connectivity projects, while the Crown Prince expressed Kuwait’s readiness to enhance cooperation and investment in these areas.

President Salim also emphasized the readiness of Lebanese ports to facilitate import and export movements between Kuwait and Lebanon, and both sides agreed to work toward expanding trade and investment ties, with plans to hold a Lebanese-Kuwaiti economic and investment forum as soon as possible.
