Sami Gemayel stated that Iran has not protected Lebanon but exploited it as a battleground for its wars and negotiations.
The head of the Lebanese Kataeb Party, MP Sami Gemayel, stated that Iran has never protected Lebanon but, as he described, has used it as a field for its wars and negotiations.
In a post on his account on the platform "X," Gemayel said that Iran is not defending the Lebanese people today but rather its military wing in Lebanon, intending to use it again whenever its interests require, even if the cost is the destruction of southern Lebanon and the country once more.
He emphasized that protecting Lebanon begins with ending Iranian tutelage, restricting weapons to the army's control, enabling the state to fully restore its sovereignty, and liberating the land through diplomacy.
Gemayel also called for rebuilding what he said Iran has destroyed through Hezbollah over decades.
