Social Security Holds Violators Accountable and Enhances Services in Nabatieh with Emergency Advance
The National Social Security Fund announced legal action against a violator for forging documents and issued an emergency financial advance to the Nabatieh office to accelerate payments.

The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund stated in a press release that "the oversight activities carried out by the Fund's administration are not limited to detecting financial violations and attempts to benefit from its services without justification, but also include ensuring the proper functioning of administrative work and the integrity of documents and transactions, considering that sound management constitutes the first line of defense for the Fund's funds and the rights of insured persons."
It said: "In this context, and based on a report prepared by the Financial Inspection Directorate, it was found that Ms. Lia Ghassan Abi Chahla forged documents belonging to the Fund, particularly an employee resignation transaction, in order to obtain a clearance certificate despite not meeting the required legal conditions.
It added: "Consequently, and following instructions from the Fund's Director General, Dr. Mohammad Korki, the Fund's Litigation Department filed a criminal complaint before the Beirut Public Prosecution against her, and against anyone who appears in the investigation as a perpetrator, accomplice, or intervenor in the crimes attributed to her. This lawsuit was registered under number 2220 dated 24/9/2026."
It continued: "Furthermore, Ms. Lia Ghassan Abi Chahla was banned from entering the Fund's offices pursuant to Circular 1939 dated 1/9/2026."
It indicated that "in a related context regarding the protection of insured persons' rights and ensuring their continued access to the Fund's social and health benefits, and in line with the Lebanese state's orientations to activate its presence in the city of Nabatieh, Dr. Korki issued decision No. 523 on 5/10/2026, granting the Nabatieh office an exceptional financial advance worth 5 billion Lira, dedicated to accelerating the payment of voluntary insured persons' transactions."
It concluded: "Korki affirms that the path of social security reform is based on responsible management that holds accountable upon violation, intervenes when necessary, and places the continuity of benefits and the rights of insured persons at the core of its priorities."
