The Public Relations Directorate of the National Social Security Fund clarified that "since adjusting tariffs for healthcare service providers, both institutions and individuals, positively and directly reflects on ensuring insured persons' access to decent healthcare, the Fund's administration has paid special attention to this file, in terms of preparing actuarial studies and securing the necessary funding to raise them whenever needed and within available financial capabilities."

It confirmed in a statement that "in this framework, for the fifth time since June 2023, following intensive meetings held by the Fund's Director General Dr. Mohammad Korki with the Doctors' Syndicate, the administration responded once again to the demand to increase their consultation fees, noting that the last increase was at the beginning of this year, specifically in February 2026."

The Directorate added: "Accordingly, based on Board of Directors Decision No. 15 dated 24/9/2026, and Supervisory Authority Approval Decision No. 104/1 dated 8/10/2026, Dr. Korki issued an information memo dated 12/10/2026, bearing number 851, which raised the doctor consultation tariff in private clinics as follows:

-General practitioner consultation: from 2.7 million to 3.2 million LBP,

-Specialist doctor consultation: from 2 million to 2.5 million LBP.

Thus, the value of doctor consultations has exceeded 100% of what it was before the crisis."

On this occasion, the Director General called on doctors to "meet these positive initiatives and adhere to the tariffs approved by the Fund. He also extends thanks to the Minister of Labor, Dr. Mohammad Haidar, for his tremendous efforts in following up on this file and other files aimed at alleviating the burden of the health bill on insured persons. He also commends the great efforts made by the new Board of Directors headed by Dr. Bachara Al-Assmar to enhance the role and presence of the National Social Security Fund."

It concluded: "Dr. Korki affirms that the insured person's health and right to decent healthcare have become a shared responsibility, in which the Fund, the doctor, and healthcare service providers are actual partners in protecting it, thereby safeguarding the health and social security of approximately one-third of the Lebanese people."
