State Security Detains Head of Technical Department in Oil Installations Over Embezzlement

The General Directorate of State Security has detained J.A., the head of the technical department at the oil installations in Tripoli, following an indictment by the North Public Prosecutor's Office. He is accused of embezzling public funds by submitting fraudulent price offers for cleaning the oil storage tanks belonging to the installations. This practice caused financial losses amounting to thousands of dollars to the treasury and the Ministry of Energy, while the actual cleaning work was carried out by official employees of the installations.

Information indicates that the failure to properly clean the tanks resulted in delays in unloading oil shipments into the tanks by the company "Brazils." This delay incurred daily penalties of $25,000, accumulating to a total of $1,300,000 in fines charged to the treasury.
