The Preliminary Decision in the Beirut Port Explosion Case Soon

"Al-Nahar" learned that the chief public prosecutor, Judge Muhammad Saba, will issue his opinion on the Beirut port explosion case within a maximum of one or two months.

A judicial source told "Al-Nahar" that investigating judge Tariq Bitar has two months to issue his preliminary decision on the file, noting that investigations are still ongoing to determine responsibilities.

The judicial source described the port explosion file as "complex and intertwined," containing thousands of documents that could fill an entire room, especially since investigations are also focusing on the nature of the materials detonated and whether all the stored quantity exploded. According to the source, if a large amount of ammunition or explosive materials detonated in one location, some portions might remain at the site, depending on their nature and surrounding conditions.

The source emphasized that "nothing can be definitively concluded" at this stage before investigations are completed and the circumstances of the explosion and associated responsibilities are clarified, particularly given that the case is humanitarian and concerns all Lebanese citizens.
