This Is What the Jordanian King Confirmed Regarding the Military

Issued by the Army Command Directorate of Information: "General Rodolphe Hilker, Chief of the French Army, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on August 30 and August 31, 2026. A meeting was held between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Army Chief, attended by Crown Prince H.R.H. Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Commander of the Joint Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Hunaiti, and several officials, at the Al-Hussein Palace.

During the meeting, His Majesty affirmed Jordan's steadfast support for Lebanon and its efforts to safeguard its security and sovereignty.

His Majesty also expressed full support for the International Conference to Support the Lebanese Armed Forces, scheduled to be held in Paris on September 17, 2026, aimed at enhancing the army's operational capabilities and its ability to fulfill its national responsibilities.

General Hilker had previously visited the headquarters of the Jordanian Armed Forces, where he was received by Major General Al-Hunaiti, and formal honors were accorded to him. Subsequently, a meeting took place between General Hilker and Major General Al-Hunaiti in the presence of several officers, during which key developments were discussed, ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two armies were explored, and emphasis was placed on the importance of supporting the military institution amid ongoing challenges.

General Hilker also conveyed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its continuous initiatives aimed at strengthening the army’s capabilities based on its national role.
