Traffic Measures in the Suburb... and a Ban on Using Drones

Issued by the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces, Public Relations Division, the following statement:

"The Ashura memorial ceremony will be held in the southern suburb of Beirut on Friday, June 26, 2026, where a large crowd of citizens will participate. Therefore, starting from 1:30 AM on Friday until the conclusion, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces will take the following traffic measures:

First:

- Closing Imad Mughniyeh Avenue in both directions from Sayyad Roundabout eastward, and from the old airport road westward, in addition to the main and secondary roads leading to it,

- Closing the old airport road from Shatila Roundabout to the Cocody Bridge, in addition to the main and secondary roads leading to the bridge.

Second:

Citizens coming from Beirut who wish to reach the Rafic Hariri International Airport must take the following roads:

- From Cola Roundabout, Ziad Rahbani Highway, to the turnoff leading to the airport.

- From UNESCO – Mariotte Roundabout, Ouzai Public Road, Al-Burj Junction, Al-Nafa'a Bridge, towards Al-Ahed Stadium, to the airport.

- From UNESCO – Mariotte Roundabout, Ouzai Public Road, to Samaka Roundabout, heading up towards Al-Ahed Stadium Junction, to the airport.

Third:

Citizens coming from the south must take the following roads:

- From the airport tunnels, to the Cocody turnoff, towards the old airport road, to the airport.

- From Khaldeh, the coastal road, Ouzai Public Road, to Samaka Roundabout, heading up towards Al-Ahed Stadium Junction, to the airport.

- Also, launching drones of all types is prohibited starting from 6:00 PM on June 25, 2026, until the conclusion.

Therefore, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces requests citizens to take note and comply with the instructions and directives of the Internal Security Forces personnel tasked with carrying out this mission, to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion."
