Trial of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir Postponed; Allegations of Hezbollah Involvement in Abra Clashes

Information revealed by MTV's website indicated that "the hearing for Sheikh Ahmad Al-Assir's trial before the Military Court of Cassation has been postponed until November 26, 2026," adding that "Al-Assir's defense team requested to hear testimony from a group of military and security leaders, including Brigadier General Chamel Roukoz."

The information added that "the Military Court of Cassation received photos and video clips that Al-Assir's defense team stated prove the involvement of Hezbollah elements in the Abra clashes."

The information clarified that "the postponement of the session is due to the absence of Abdel-Bassit Barakat, who was convicted in the case, but Lebanese authorities handed him over to Syrian authorities after signing an agreement on the transfer of convicts, so the court requested that he be notified by posting the date of the November session."
