Trump: I believe Iran and Hezbollah will be added to the Russia sanctions bill
US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he believes Iran and Hezbollah will be added to the Russia sanctions bill currently before Congress, and stated that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships except Iranian ones.

US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he believes Iran and Hezbollah will be added to the Russia sanctions bill currently before Congress.
He added to reporters that imposing secondary sanctions on China and India has not yet been discussed.
Trump's remarks came during his reception of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi at the White House.
On the Iranian issue, Trump said that Iran's lying and violent leadership is leading it toward total destruction.
Earlier, Trump affirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all ships except Iranian ones, indicating that the blockade scheduled to be reimposed this evening will include any ships carrying Iranian cargo, not just ships coming from or going to Iranian ports.
Trump attributed the decision to reimpose the naval blockade to decisions by the Iranian leadership, which he described as "lying and violent, leading their country toward total destruction," in his words.
Trump backed away from his proposal to impose a 20 percent fee in exchange for "protecting the Strait of Hormuz" as part of the war with Iran.
Trump said he would instead seek to conclude investment agreements.
The United States launched new strikes on Iran on Tuesday, hours before the deadline it set to reimpose a naval blockade on its ports, although President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of communication to reach an agreement with it.
