Trump: Iranian Proposal Rejected, Hormuz Under Our Control

US President Donald Trump announced today, Saturday, his rejection of Iran's latest proposal.

Trump stated that "Iran has trapped itself by closing the Strait of Hormuz," adding, "We have imposed on them the largest blockade in military history," according to his remarks.

Trump continued: "We have erected a wall of steel around the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran no longer has funds due to its closure," as he put it.

Yesterday, Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said from the United Nations that Iran had presented America with a concrete plan over 7 days, noting that the decision now lies with Washington.

Iran proposed this diplomatic initiative at the UN General Assembly in New York, stating that it was delivered to the American side through Qatari intermediaries and would lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to hostilities in the region within 7 days.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told reporters at the UN on Friday that the agreement would trigger a 7-day countdown to reopen the strait and halt fighting in the region.
