Donald Trump revealed he requested Israel's approval for a ceasefire with Hezbollah amid efforts to ease tensions on the Lebanese front.

Former US President Donald Trump disclosed that he asked Israel to approve a ceasefire with Hezbollah, reflecting Washington's attempts to contain escalation on the Lebanese front and support a path toward regional calm.
In a phone interview with NBC News, Trump stated he had spoken with Israeli officials, adding, "Sometimes you have to calm down and use your mind," highlighting the need to allow political solutions a chance.
Trump did not specify whether he contacted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly, only confirming that he requested Israel's consent to a ceasefire.
These remarks came as the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah took effect, following US and regional mediation efforts aimed at preventing the conflict from expanding in the area.
