UN Dispatches Investigation Team to Lebanon Over Possible International Law Violations
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights announced sending investigators to Lebanon to assess potential international law breaches amid ongoing conflict.

Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, announced that the UN Human Rights Office will deploy a team of investigators to Lebanon next week. Their mission is to evaluate potential violations of international law committed by all parties involved in the ongoing conflict within the country.
Lebanon became embroiled in the broader Middle Eastern conflict on March 2, when the Hezbollah group launched rockets into Israel. This action was in support of Iran amid its war with the United States and Israel. In response, Israel initiated extensive air and ground military operations across Lebanon.
