UN Presence Holds Significance for Lebanon in These Files
Lebanon's participation in United Nations General Assembly meetings is gaining importance, particularly in conveying its positions on negotiations, weapons exclusivity, and Israel's continued occupation of southern territories. President Aoun and Prime Minister Salam coordinated on the latter's attendance, including discussions on a substitute force to replace UNIFIL.
Political sources briefed by the newspaper «al-Liwa» stated that "Lebanon's presence at United Nations General Assembly meetings gains significance in conveying Lebanon's positions, particularly regarding negotiations, weapons exclusivity, and Israel's continued occupation of lands in the south," emphasizing that "coordination has taken place between President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati regarding the latter's participation in these meetings, with scheduled meetings to discuss the issue of a substitute force to replace UNIFIL."
