UNIFIL Chief of Staff Visits Archdiocese of Tyre

Archbishop George Iskandar of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archdiocese of Tyre received UNIFIL Chief of Staff, French General Marc Galland, accompanied by several officers, at the Saint Thomas Archdiocese in Tyre. The meeting focused on the situation, particularly the reality of border villages and the conditions of their residents.

Iskandar emphasized "the importance of the role played by UNIFIL in the south," stating that "what the people of the region aspire to is lasting peace and sustainable security, which would enable them to remain in their land and live with dignity and tranquility in their villages."

The discussion also addressed "the importance of continuing communication and cooperation to serve the stability of the south and the well-being of its people."

Galland thanked Iskandar for his "warm reception."
