UNIFIL's General Deodato Apaniara delivered aid to Tyre Municipality, emphasizing ongoing cooperation and support for local communities and development efforts.
General Deodato Apaniara, the commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), provided assistance to the Tyre Municipality during a ceremony attended by Hassan Dabouk, head of the Tyre District Municipalities Union and mayor of Tyre, Randa Abu Saleh, chair of the Women and Children Committee, Walid Saleh, a member of the Tyre Municipality, along with several UNIFIL officers.
General Apaniara highlighted the importance of the existing cooperation between UNIFIL and local authorities, stressing UNIFIL's commitment to continue supporting local communities and strengthening partnerships with municipalities to serve citizens and aid development and recovery efforts.
Mayor Dabouk expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a reflection of the deep collaboration between Tyre Municipality and UNIFIL, which contributes to enhancing the municipality's capacity to continue providing services to residents.
Randa Abu Saleh also acknowledged UNIFIL's role and its ongoing support, particularly for women and children, during the difficult period currently faced by southern Lebanon.
