UNIFIL reports that a position near Kfarshouba was fired upon with light weapons this morning. No peacekeepers were injured, though the base sustained damage.

A statement was issued by "UNIFIL" which read:
"A UNIFIL position near Kfarshouba on the Blue Line in the eastern sector came under fire from light weapons this morning.
All peacekeepers stationed at the position immediately took cover following the first round of gunfire, and no injuries were recorded among them.
Most bullets hit the outer wall of the UNIFIL position, but some also struck residential units and United Nations vehicles inside the base, where several impacts were recorded on the site's buildings.
It is unacceptable that firing continued towards a clearly marked UNIFIL position; such deliberate attacks put the lives of peacekeepers at grave risk.
UNIFIL has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of this incident.
We strongly remind all parties of their obligations under international law to ensure the safety and security of United Nations personnel and property at all times.
Any attack on UNIFIL peacekeepers constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701, and may amount to a war crime."
