UNIFIL French Unit Discusses Humanitarian Support with Bdeias Municipality
A UNIFIL French unit delegation met with Bdeias municipality officials to present potential humanitarian aid programs amid ongoing regional challenges.

At the Bdeias municipality headquarters, Mayor Ezzat Khalil received Assistant Chief Jeremy from the French unit operating within UNIFIL, accompanied by the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team, along with several municipal council members.
The meeting involved discussions on the general conditions affecting the area amid difficult circumstances and the ongoing war. The French officer outlined various humanitarian aid programs and types of assistance that the French unit can provide to municipalities and local communities to help alleviate the living and humanitarian burdens faced by residents.
Mayor Khalil welcomed the visiting delegation, expressing appreciation for the cooperation between the municipality and UNIFIL forces. He highlighted the humanitarian and social role played by the international forces alongside their primary duties of maintaining security and stability, emphasizing the importance of continuing this collaboration to serve the local population and strengthen their resilience against current challenges.
The meeting also stressed the importance of ongoing coordination between the municipality and the French unit to identify needs and priorities to be addressed in the upcoming phase.
