UNIFIL Reaffirms Commitment to Lebanese Army Presence, State Authority in South Lebanon

Marking the 81st anniversary of the Lebanese Army, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued a statement underscoring its continued commitment to backing initiatives aimed at reinforcing the Lebanese Armed Forces’ presence and consolidating state authority in southern Lebanon.

UNIFIL highlighted that its decades-long partnership contributes directly to the shared objective of achieving lasting security and stability in the region. The force reiterated its ongoing support for both parties in implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 and the Tripartite Framework Agreement.
