What Roads Are Affected by Asphalt Work in Beirut?
Asphalt work will be carried out on key roads in Beirut from August 18 to 23, 2026, causing traffic disruptions and detours.

Issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Section:
One of the contracted companies will carry out asphalt paving works on the road stretching from the entrance intersection toward Forum de Beyrouth, specifically in front of Yahiya stores, and vice versa, on dates August 18, 19, and 20, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM the following day.
Additionally, the company will begin asphalt works on the mentioned route on Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, 2026, from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
These works will result in road closures at the construction site and rerouting as follows:
From the entrance intersection, right toward Bourj Hammoud or left toward Mar Mkhail.
From Souk El-Souk, specifically from in front of Yahiya stores, toward Emile Lahoud Highway.
Works will be carried out sequentially on one lane after another, with temporary openings created in the central island to allow use of either the southern or northern lanes depending on the phase of work, ensuring two-way traffic flow between Forum Square and the entrance intersection.
Citizens are kindly advised to take note, comply with instructions from Internal Security Forces personnel and their guidance, and follow traffic signs placed at the site, to facilitate traffic flow and prevent congestion.
